Today, 3 soldiers from the Southern forces were killed and 2 others were wounded in an explosive device explosion in Abyan governorate (east of Aden).
A military source told "South24 Center" that an explosive device exploded in AQAP's former-stronghold Wadi Oemran, killing the soldiers.
The incident comes two days after an explosion targeted two prominent security commanders in Al-Mahfad district, in the center of Abyan.
On Thursday, the commander of the Emergency Forces in the Security Belt and the commander of a military battalion were detonated by an explosive device targeting their convoy. The explosion did not cause any casualties.
AQAP had announced, in mid-October, the strategy of improvised explosive devices and ambushes against the Southern force.

AQAP's announcement came after taking over their largest training camp in the Arabian Peninsula, in Wadi Oemran area of Mudiyah district, in the center of Abyan governorate, as part of the "Arrows of the East" operation which was launched by the Southern forces.
In a related context, the Shabwa Defense Forces (a branch of the Southern forces) announced on Friday that an explosive device had been found at the western entrance to the city of Ataq in Shabwa governorate.
