Yemen Electricity Ministry Confirms Proposed Tariff Hikes Revealed by South24

Aden (South24 Center)The Yemeni Ministry of Electricity and Energy has effectively confirmed the authenticity of documents published by South24 Center regarding proposed electricity tariff increases in areas controlled by the internationally recognized government.In a statement issued on Saturday, July 26, the ministry said the current residential tariff would remain unchanged for monthly consumption of up to 1,000 kilowatt-hours, while consumption above that threshold would be subject to revised prices.The ministry added that the amendments also cover the commercial and industrial sectors, dedicated electricity lines, and high-consumption residential brackets.
