Yesterday, the Houthis announced a deal to exchange 2,223 prisoners under the auspices of the United Nations with the Yemeni government and the Saudi-led Coalition.

The group's prisoner official said that it was agreed to exchange 1,400 Houthi prisoners in exchange for 823 prisoners, including the former Yemeni Minister of Defense, Major General Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, and the brother of the Yemeni President, Major General Nasser Mansour Hadi.

The deal also includes, according to the Houthi leader, 16 Saudi soldiers and 3 Sudanese soldiers. He added, "We are awaiting the step of exchanging the prisoners' list on March 29, as agreed upon."

On Saturday, the Iranian-backed rebels announced a 3-day cessation of attacks against Saudi Arabia and the internal fronts. It went into effect today.

The Houthis demanded that Saudi Arabia stop its raids, lift the siege, and remove "foreign forces" from Yemen as a condition for a permanent commitment to stop attacks against it.

The Houthi initiative came after hot days of attacks carried out by the group with missiles and drones against Saudi oil and vital facilities in Riyadh, Jeddah and cities in southern the Kingdom.

This coincides with the approaching date of launching the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations under the GCC auspices in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
