Aidrous Al-Zubaidi heads to the United States for the first time

The President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and a member of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Aidrous Al-Zubaidi headed to the United States today in a visit that is the first of its kind.

STC-affiliate AIC TV stated that Al-Zubaidi will participate in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which begins tomorrow in New York City.

“Al-Zubaidi will hold a series of important meetings with regional and international decision-makers, and this visit is part of efforts to end the war and establish peace," AIC added.

Al-Zubaidi arrived last Friday in the Saudi capital city Riyadh, one day after the arrival of a high-ranking delegation from the Houthi militia and an Omani delegation to the Kingdom.

Also earlier, Saba Agency announced that Yemen's PLC Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi will participate in the United Nations meetings.

Al-Zubaidi had visited a number of major countries during the recent period as part of his efforts to mobilize an international position that supports the cause of the independence of South Yemen, and to place this issue on the agenda of any final solution to the conflict in Yemen.

Al-Zubaidi visited the Russian Federation three times previously. He also visited the United Kingdom last June, during which he met with a number of British officials.
