Saudi aviation authorities said on Tuesday (October 6) that attacks on airports in Jazan and Najran injured three people and caused material damage, as the Iran-aligned Houthi militia announced missile and drone strikes across the Kingdom.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation said the two airports were attacked on Monday evening. The injuries were minor, and the wounded were taken to hospital.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the group targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, an Aramco refinery in Rabigh, Abha airport and military sites in southern Saudi Arabia using ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones.
He claimed the attacks disrupted flights at Riyadh airport and caused a fire at the Rabigh refinery. Neither claim could be independently verified. AFP reported explosions in northern Riyadh, near the airport, without confirming that it had been hit.
The attacks followed a Houthi warning to airlines against using Saudi airspace, excluding Makkah and Madinah.
Saudi military spokesperson Turki Al-Maliki said on Tuesday that strikes destroyed a ballistic missile launch platform in Sanaa and a missile storage site in Saada. He also announced a naval operation in Hodeidah targeting weapons depots, explosive-laden boats and naval mines.
Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan agreed on Monday to implement collective defense commitments under the Makkah Defense Alliance and arrange the rapid deployment of agreed military forces and capabilities to the Kingdom, without specifying numbers or a timetable.
In Yemen, the Southern Giants forces announced control of Dhubab military airport and the cutting of Houthi supply routes near Bab al-Mandeb. Commander Ali Al-Kaldi said his forces had also retaken Mayun Island.

Yemen’s official Saba news agency separately reported that Southern Giants, Nation Shield and Tihama resistance forces had retaken Al-Mokha with air support.
The Taiz military command said on Tuesday that government-aligned forces had recaptured three mountain positions in Hayfan district and were engaged in intensified fighting in Al-Mawasit district.
The advances followed the launch of Operation Fajr Yemen on Monday, aimed, according to Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi, at retaking Sanaa and restoring state institutions.
In Aden, a source told South24 Center that Southern forces had engaged drones over Maasheeq Palace, without providing details about their origin or any casualties or damage.
