Southern communities organized simultaneous demonstrations Saturday (December 20), in a number of Western capitals and cities, during which they called on the international community to support what they described as the right of the people of the South to restore their state, and to back efforts aimed at strengthening security and stability in South Yemen.
The protest rallies were held in front of United Nations offices and official institutions in Geneva, London, Berlin, The Hague, and New York, where participants urged the United Nations and influential countries to deal with the Southern issue as a political matter requiring a fair and peaceful solution.

In New York, demonstrators raised pictures of the President of the Southern Transitional Council, Aidrous al-Zubaidi, alongside pictures of U.S. President Donald Trump, and carried banners highlighting what they described as shared interests in the fields of combating terrorism, securing maritime navigation, and protecting international trade routes, particularly in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
Southern communities in Europe and the United States also called for support of the security efforts in South Yemen, praising the role of the Southern Armed Forces in confronting extremist groups, securing the areas under their control, and protecting regional maritime passages.
The external movements coincided with the continuation of open mass sit-ins in a number of Southern Yemeni cities for the thirteenth consecutive day, as crowds gathered in Aden, Mukalla, Seiyun, Zinjibar, Socotra, in addition to other areas in the governorates of Abyan, Lahj, and al-Dhalea.
In Aden, thousands of demonstrators gathered today in Al-Aroud Square as part of an open sit-in, raising slogans calling for the declaration of the South Arabia State, and expressing their support for the Southern Transitional Council and the Southern Armed Forces.
This Southern popular mobilization at home and abroad comes in response to calls by the Southern Transitional Council, amid political tensions in light of recent developments in the governorates of Hadramout and al-Mahra.
