Three Southern Forces soldiers were killed in separate incidents across Shabwa and Al-Dhalea governorates in the past 24 hours, amid escalating military operations by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia.

According to a military source who spoke to South24 Center, a soldier from the Shabwa Defense Forces was killed and two others were wounded on Tuesday (November 4) in a Houthi drone attack on a position of the 5th Shabwa Defense Brigade in Markha Al-Ulya district, north of the governorate.

The source stated that the explosive-laden drone struck a forward position along the confrontation line with the Houthis, killing one soldier while two others were injured. The latter were evacuated to Ataq city for medical treatment.

In Al-Dhalea Governorate, a Southern Forces soldier was killed today in a Houthi attack on the Bab Ghalaq front in the north of the governorate, a military source told South24 Center.

On Monday, another Southern Forces soldier was killed during clashes with Houthi elements on the northern fronts of Al-Dhalea Governorate, where intermittent confrontations persist despite an overall relative calm.

On the same day, a military source told South24 Center that a Southern Forces soldier was wounded by sniper fire on the Al-Had front, which separates Al-Bayda Governorate and the Yafe' area in Lahj Governorate.

This escalation comes as international parties continue efforts to maintain the relative calm and revive the political track among the rival sides.
