The Southern Armed Forces celebrated the graduation of their new military batches with holding field marches in the governorates of Aden, Shabwa and Abyan.

On May 29, the Military Academy in the capital Aden organized a graduation ceremony for the third batch of graduates. The event was attended by the Minister of Defense of the Internationally Recognized Government, Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari. The batch included military students from all governorates under the IRG control, with most of the graduates hailing from South Yemen and already integrated into the Southern military formations.

On May 31, a battalion from the Second Brigade of the Shabwa Defense Forces conducted a military march around the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa governorate, as part of the 2025 annual training program. The brigade’s commander, Brigadier General Wajdi Baoum Al-Khalifi, stated that the march aimed to “enhance discipline, improve physical fitness, and instill military spirit among the personnel”.

On the same day, the Fifth Back and Support Brigade carried out a military march along the coastal road of Abyan governorate. The personnel included graduates from specialized combat training courses, including the ’Emergency Battalion’. The event was supervised by Brigadier General Mukhtar Al-Noubi, Commander of the Abyan Axis, who emphasized that the march was part of “programs for preparation and improving field efficiency of fighters”.

Earlier, on May 24, the Southern Giants Forces conducted a march involving graduates of training courses. The march saw the graduates take long-distance steps across diverse terrains. The march was part of a rehabilitation plan aimed at “enhancing the ability to deploy and endure under difficult field conditions”, according to a statement by the forces' leadership.

These developments come as the Southern Forces are facing increasing Houthi attacks on several fronts, amid the ongoing political stalemate and the economic and services collapse in Yemen.
