Three children from the same family were killed on Thursday morning (April 10) when a drone suspected to be operated by the Houthi group struck their home in Bayt Bish village, in northern Hays district of Hodeidah governorate, local sources told ‘South24 Center’.
The drone attack targeted the residence of two brothers from the Muhammad Obaid Basharah family, killing their three children - Raham Salem Muhammad Obaid (five), Yahya Salem Muhammad Obaid (two), and Waad Ibrahim Muhammad Obaid (three) - as they played in the courtyard.

The incident comes amid continuing similar attacks by the Houthis on civilian areas in Hays district, where sporadic clashes have been reported between the Presidential Council forces and Houthi militia along the frontlines. At the time of writing this report, the Houthi group had not issued any official statement regarding today’s attack.

The strike also comes amidst an ongoing US military operation targeting Houthi positions in Hodeidah that began on March 15 under US President Donald Trump's orders, aimed at downsizing the group's military capabilities used to attack ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since October 2023. The Iran-backed Houthis claim the US strikes have killed civilians in Sanaa and Saada.
