The Southern Forces Arrest an AQAP Member in Abyan

Yesterday, the Southern forces arrested a senior member of the extremist AQAP organization in Abyan governorate (east of Aden).
A security source told "South24 Center" that the Security Belt Forces (SBF) arrested Aqil Imtali in Lauder district.
The source indicated that for years, Aqil was wanted by the SBF in Abyan governorate.
The arrest of Aqil came hours after the detonation of an explosive device near a security checkpoint of the SBF in Lauder district as the source added.
According to the same source, the search continues for other members who were next to Aqil and fled.
During the past months, the Southern forces announced the arrest of a number of senior AQAP members in Abyan governorate.

In the meantime, UN Envoy Hans Grundberg arrived today in the capital Aden.
Grundberg met with the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Rashad Al-Alimi at the presidential Maashiq Palace.
Saba news agency said that Al-Alimi was briefed from the Envoy on his recent efforts to advance the peace process.
