35,000 IDP in Yemen since the start of 2023

The number of internally displaced people (IDP) in Yemen between January and October of this year reached 35,000 people, according to a report by the Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons’ Camps (Ex.U.IDPs) of the Yemeni government in Aden.
The report seen by South24 Center said that the displacement of a total of 6,460 families consisting of 35,575 people from a number of governorates in Yemen was tracked, 2,891 of which were in Marib Governorate alone, followed by Shabwa Governorate with 716 families.
680 families were internally displaced in Hodeidah Governorate, 645 families in Ibb Governorate, 531 families in Taiz Governorate, 337 families in Lahj Governorate, 224 families in Aden Governorate, and 222 families in Al-Dhalea Governorate.
In Hadramout Governorate, 164 families were internally displaced, while the number in Al-Mahra Governorate reached only 50 families. Al-Mahra was recently exposed to Tropical Cyclone Tej, which destroyed dozens of houses.
The governorates of Aden and Marib have the largest density of IDPs in Yemen due to the war that has been going on for more than eight years, in addition to natural disasters and widespread poverty and hunger.
