Dozens were killed and injured today in an explosion at a local weapon warehouse in Abyan Governorate, South Yemen.

According to local sources who spoke to "South24", at least 6 citizens were killed, and 32 others were injured, in the warehouse explosion in Lauder district.

According to eyewitnesses, flames rose from the warehouse prior the explosion. The actual cause of the explosion has not yet been confirmed.

Pictures showed severe damage to a residential building that includes the warehouse which belongs to a local arms dealer.

A circulated video by activists also included scenes of the panic experienced by citizens in the area as a result of the explosion. The explosion was heard in different parts of the governorate.
