Zaina began working in the human rights and political fields, and advocating for the Southern cause, in 2012.
She is an independent opinion columnist for several local newspapers, and a researcher writing on issues related to non-state actors, as well as regional affairs, with a particular focus on Yemen.
Al-Gallaby is one of the founders of Al-Nasiyah Cultural Club. She has recently worked as a television presenter on several programs and previously served as the official spokesperson for the Southern Revolutionary Movement. She is also a member of the Yemeni Feminist Solidarity network and a member of the Women’s Alliance for Safe Leadership (WASL).
