A military source reported that five soldiers were injured when Houthi drones targeted positions of the Fourth Hazm Brigade, affiliated with the Southern forces, on the Haifan border front in Lahj Governorate.

A military source said Southern forces carried out artillery strikes on Houthi positions on the Karsh front in Lahj, in response to repeated shelling that targeted Southern forces' positions there.

A local source reported that armed tribesmen in Marib blocked diesel and petrol tankers heading to the governorates of South Yemen in the Al-Ruwaik and Ghuwairban areas.

Rights sources reported arrests in Crater, in the capital Aden, targeting activists over their demands for improved electricity service, before they were later released.

Southern forces said the 14 billion Yemeni riyals that the public prosecutor announced had been frozen in a bank was an invalid measure. They said Saudi authorities have withheld food allowances for Southern forces since December 2025, considering the measure a targeting of fighters on fronts against the Houthis and terrorist organizations.

Southern forces announced the release of four of their members after they had been abducted by Al-Qaeda in Abyan for about a year and a half, in exchange for a ransom of around half a million Saudi riyals, according to sources who spoke to South24 Center.

Military sources reported that four soldiers from pro-government forces were killed while foiling two Houthi infiltration attempts on the Al-Dhabab front in Taiz Governorate and in southern Hodeidah.

Local sources in AlDhalea reported that five children were killed and eight others injured when an explosive object from Houthi war remnants detonated in Hajar area, after they found it while playing in Al-Ribi village.

The Houthi deputy chief of staff said the Israeli presence in Somaliland would be a spark that ignites the region and would have negative repercussions for navigation in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, according to the group’s media.

The Houthi militia called on civilians in northern Yemen to mobilize against what it described as “the forces of aggression,” saying its forces number in the hundreds of thousands and include hundreds of military brigades, in the latest military threat hinted at by the group.

National Security forces in the Coast Sector dismantled an explosive device north of Ahwar in Abyan Governorate.

The STC National Assembly considered the general mobilization call launched by the Houthi group a dangerous indicator, affirming the readiness of the people of the South and their armed forces to defend the South.

National Resistance Forces repelled a Houthi attack in Al-Jarahi District, southern Hodeidah, and captured a Houthi fighter, according to media close to the forces.

The Israeli defense minister said Israel would not hesitate to target the Houthi leader if an operational opportunity arises, noting that he hides in tunnels and would be killed if he came within target range.

The Shabwa Tribal Alliance called for readiness for general mobilization and heightened alert following the Houthis’ mobilization call. The General Union of Tribes of the “Arab South” also called for supporting Southern forces.

Aden’s anti-narcotics department announced the arrest of 20 suspects in drug-dealing and drug-use cases across several districts of the capital.

Clashes broke out between Southern forces and the Houthi militia on the Haifan border front between Lahj and Taiz, after the Houthis pushed large military reinforcements toward fronts overlooking Lahj Governorate.

Yemeni journalist Mohammed Al-Aidha, a correspondent for Al-Arabiya, was killed in Al-Mukalla when an explosive device targeted his car. Investigations showed that the blast was caused by a locally made explosive device planted under the driver's seat and detonated remotely. The governor of Hadramout said the journalist had received threats from the Houthis.

The Southern Transitional Council strongly condemned the assassination of journalist Al-Aidha and pointed to the presence of ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and Houthi elements within the ranks of the “National Army” who were deployed in Hadramout. It said Al-Aidha’s killing reflects terrorist activity in Al-Mukalla and Coastal Hadramout, after the stability the governorate had witnessed since 2016 with the deployment of the Hadrami Elite Forces.

Houthi leader Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti called on the group’s followers in a video speech to prepare for what he described as the “battle to liberate Yemen from Saudi occupation.”

Abdulmalik Al-Houthi threatened to target any Israeli activity in Somaliland, warning against attempts to control maritime corridors in the Gulf of Aden, Bab al-Mandab, and the Red Sea. He called for a unified regional stance.

A statement by the Saudi-backed Yemeni Emergency Forces in Hadramout revealed continued oil-smuggling operations in the governorate and said the force intervened to distribute oil quotas in some districts of Hadramout Valley, amid fears that northern forces could become the controller of the governorate’s oil.

Seven British MPs condemned violence against peaceful protesters in the areas of Hadramout, Aden, and Shabwa in South Yemen. According to the Early Day Motion tabled in the British Parliament, they called on the UK government to support an independent and transparent investigation into the killing of Southern protesters and urged a political solution that reflects the aspirations of the people of South Yemen.

A South24 correspondent said Southern forces soldier Jawad Al-Hujaili died of wounds sustained on the Al-Fakher front northwest of AlDhalea last Monday, when he was injured in clashes with the Houthi militia.
