Hadramout – Seiyun/Wadi Hadramout (approx.): Saudi warplanes conducted nighttime aerial activity over Seiyun and Wadi Hadramout, including dropping flares and breaking the sound barrier, causing panic among residents.

Al Dhalea – Al Azariq/Al Ribat village (approx.): Houthi militias shelled Al Ribat village in Al Azariq district, without causing human or material damage.

Hadramout – West of Al Khasha'ah (approx.): Two soldiers from the Southern government forces were killed in an attack targeting a position of the 5th Support and Reinforcement Brigade west of Al Khasha'ah.

Hadramout – Al Khasha'ah Desert (approx.): Southern forces announced the seizure of new illegal oil refineries and facilities in Wadi Hadramout used to loot oil wealth, saying they were run by influential networks under the protection of the First Military Region, while the Public Prosecution opened an investigation into these crimes in the Al Khasha'ah desert.

Abyan – Mudiyah: Southern forces found and dismantled an improvised explosive device without losses.

Hadramout – Mukalla Port: Saudi Arabia announced it had struck military vehicles at Mukalla Port after previously ordering the port evacuated ahead of military action; the strike damaged parts of the port and some houses.

Saudi Arabia – Riyadh: Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi declared a 90-day state of emergency and imposed a 72-hour air, sea and land ban on all ports and crossings following the Saudi strike on Mukalla. He also demanded the UAE withdraw from Yemen within 24 hours and announced the cancellation of the joint defense agreement with the UAE.

Hadramout – Al Wadi'ah (approx.): A source told South24 that Saudi Arabia in recent days had intensified the mobilization of northern forces including Salafi and Islah-linked elements in Al Wadi'ah, withdrew northern units previously assigned to confront the Houthis, and redirected them toward Hadramout, with expectations of Saudi air cover to support these forces.

Hadramout – Seiyun (approx.): Witnesses told “South24” that Saudi warplanes were flying over Seiyun in Wadi Hadramout.

UAE – Abu Dhabi: The UAE Ministry of Defense announced the end of the remaining counterterrorism teams’ missions in Yemen.

Marib – Wadi Ubaydah (approx.): Sources told South24 that AQAP has been contacting intermediaries to buy advanced weapons recently looted from Hadramout camps.

Al Mahrah – Shahn: The Shahn border crossing with Oman was reopened after being closed as a precautionary measure.

Lahj – Al Hadd front, Yafa' (approx.): A Southern soldier was killed while thwarting a Houthi attack on the Al Hadd front in Yafa'.

Lahj – Bab al-Mandab (approx.): Southern naval forces seized a quarter ton of narcotics and arrested four smugglers off Bab al-Mandab.

Al Dhalea – Batar front (approx.): A Southern soldier was killed and another wounded by Houthi sniper fire on the Batar front north of Al Dhalea, according to a military source told South24.

Aden – Crater/Ma'ashiq Palace (approx.): Southern air defenses confronted drones flying over Ma'ashiq Palace, according to a security source told South24, without identifying who launched them or reporting damage.

Shabwa – Ataq: A military battalion from the 8th Brigade, Shabwa Defense, arrived in Ataq to help secure Shabwa governorate.

Wednesday 7/1/2026

Al Dhalea – Zubayd (approx.): Saudi aircraft launched a series of intensive airstrikes on Al Dhalea governorate exceeding 50 strikes, targeting Southern forces positions and populated areas, coinciding with dawn prayers, with the bombardment concentrated in Zubayd. The strikes killed four civilians and wounded 20 others.

Al Dhalea – Al Dhalea City (approx.): Saudi reconnaissance drones continued to fly over Al Dhalea city.

Shabwa – West of Ataq (approx.): Three soldiers were killed and seven wounded when an IED hit a vehicle of the Southern Giants Brigades west of Ataq in Shabwa.

Aden – Crater (approx.): Giants Brigades forces deployed in Aden to support security services and protect government facilities and sovereign sites. A curfew was imposed in Aden from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. by order of Al-Muharrami.

Aden – Tawahi (approx.): A journalist at Aden Independent TV said aircraft belonging to the Saudi aggression flew over the channel and threatened to strike it shortly after live broadcasting began, following remarks by Yemen’s information minister in Riyadh threatening sanctions against those who do not adhere to the “unity discourse.”

Hadramout – Mukalla: Hadramout Governor Al-Khنبashi dismissed the commander of the Second Military Region and the director of Hadramout Coast security from their posts and referred them for trial, according to local authority media.

Thursday 8/1/2026

Abyan – Zinjibar: Abyan security announced it had brought the Zinjibar central prison incident under control, while continuing to pursue 23 inmates who escaped during the incident.

Al Mahrah – Al Ghaydah: Security forces arrested a suspect in possession of ammunition, an unlicensed weapon, and a sniper scope, as part of a campaign to recover looted weapons.

Al Mahrah – Al Ghaydah: Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi dismissed the commander of the Al Ghaydah Axis and the Military Police Brigade in Al Mahrah and referred them for investigation, according to Saba News Agency.

Hadramout – Ash Shihr: Security forces in Ash Shihr carried out raids to recover looted weapons.
